My tribute to probably my favorite fantasy film ever.
A lot of people usually prefer films like Princess Bride or Labyrinth...but Legend has that spell-binding quality about it that mesmerizes me every time. I think it has a lot of things that modern fantasy films are missing - good effects, charming atmospheres, and characters you enjoy watching on-screen.
The main reason to see it is for Tim Curry as the villain. This performance will remind you that Tim can be rather intimidating. The makeup effects for his character is absolutely mind-blowing, you practically forget that there's an actor under all those prosthetics and you're fully convinced that you're looking the devil himself.
There are two versions available to watch - the extended European cut that runs for nearly two hours, and the American cut that runs for a mere 90 minutes with am excellent score by Tangerine Dream. Both versions are on DVD, and they both have their own pros and cons. Whatever version you watch, hopefully you'll find something worth liking
